As an Australian company, we’re proud to maintain our design hub in our Redfern studio in New South Wales, where all the magic happens. First, the design team takes Jo Tory’s sketches and decides whether the 925 sterling silver jewellery piece will have a hammered, oxidised, or gold plated finish. Then, when they’re ready, the team takes the designs to our master silversmiths, stonecutters, and artisans across the globe to create samples before going into the workshops.

NAJO still uses the same small workshops where the brand began in 1986. It’s wonderful to see these artisans and their families and communities flourish. The children who played with NAJO’s first jewellery pieces in those days are now master silversmiths and proudly continue the tradition using the same time-honoured techniques.

Italian jewellery artisans are globally renowned for their expertise in chain making. So when we first visited our master chainsmith 30 years ago, we knew we’d found someone special. Our Italian workshop’s attention to detail and quality is second to none, and we’re proud of our 30-year relationship. All our chains are made using high-quality recycled sterling silver, which we’re sure you’ll love as much as we do.

Many of our gorgeous gemstones are ethically sourced in India. So it made sense to find master stonecutters there who could custom cut our high-quality stones to fit our NAJO jewellery designs. As a result, many of NAJO’s stunning gemstone jewellery sets are consciously crafted by skilled artisans in India who know how to accentuate the beauty of our stones.

As NAJO grew, we travelled the world to find jewellery artisans who complemented the skills of our Mexican workshops. Thailand’s silversmiths have been respected for centuries thanks to their love of sterling silver jewellery and meticulous detailing. We’ve worked with the same skilled artisans for years and love their holistic sustainability ethos.
